Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation
UNESCO and Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (ISESCO) moved to develop the ICT skill of Madrasa teachers. Both the organizations jointly arranged an eight-day training programme on ‘ICT in Education from Madrasa Teachers’ at the Bangladesh Bureau of Educational Information and Statistics in the city fromSunday. Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid addressed the inaugural function as the chief guest with Higher Education Division Secretary Md Sohorab Hossain in the chair. Technical and Madrasa Education Division Secretary Md Alamgir was present as special guest while ISESCO Representative to Bangladesh Aziz El Hajir, Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board Chairman Professor AKM Saif Ullha and UNESCO National Commission of Bangladesh Joint Secretary Manjur Hossain addressed the function.Nahid said the students of madrasa can prove their skill if the madrasa teachers earn skill in information technology and modern education.
Therap Bangladesh
A workshop on ‘Regional Organisational and Educational Development ‘ jointly organised by Therap Bangladesh and Society for Welfare of the Intellectually Disabled (SWID), Bangladesh was held at Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry auditorium. In the function held recently speakers called for mainstreaming the autistic children through flourishing their inherent talents by ensuring proper care, attention, education and training in congenial atmosphere. Speakers stressed on creating adequate social awareness about the reasons of birth of newborn babies with autism to reduce the number of children with special needs. They called upon all to create awareness among pregnant mothers to reduce risk of autism, neuro-developmental disabilities and physical disability of newborn babies. President of Rangpur unit of SWID Bangladesh Advocate Abdur Rashid Chowdhury presided over the programme. The function was addressed, among others, by Deputy Inspector General for Rangpur Range of Bangladesh Police Khondker Golam Faruk, Joint Secretary General of SWID Bangladesh Shushanto Bhowmick, Assistant Director of Therap Bangladesh Foysal Iqbal and its International Affairs Executive Officer Prottay Iqbal. Entrepreneurs and teachers of 50 autism schools from across the Rangpur district participated in the programme.
