Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mohammad Sayeed Khokon said that Golapbag playground of the city would be freed from encroachers within very short time. He said this on Tuesday while speaking in a cleanliness drive at Dhalpur Community Center organised by 49 No Ward Councilor of DSCC. Khokon also assured the dwellers of the ward for renovating gymnasium and library of Dhalpur Community Center. Chief Executive Officer of DSCC Khan Mohammad Bilal, local Awami League, Jubo League and Chhatra League leaders were present on the occasion.
Wazed Mia Memorial Foundation
A discussion in observance of the 7th death anniversary of noted nuclear scientist Dr M A Wazed Mia organised by Dr M A Wazed Mia Memorial Foundation was held in the city on Monday. Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim was present as the chief guest. While speaking Nasim said that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has been spreading falsehood and if she continues to do so she would not be able to sustain in politics. The programme was addressed, among others, by AKM Farahdul Islam, Barrister Amirul Islam, Hosne Ara Bably, MP and Dr Md Azizur Rahman. Nasim said the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina would hold trials of all killings including Tanu. He said when Khaleda Zia was in power, she did not hold trial of any killing case and rather the killers were rewarded.
