Bangladesh Govt Pry School Teachers’ Assoc
President and Secretary General of Bangladesh Government Primary School Teachers’ Association Zahidur Rahman Biswas and Anwar Hossain Bhuiyan respectively in a statement on Monday called upon all the teachers of primary schools to join the human chain programme scheduled to be formed in front of Jatiya Press Club in the city on May 22 next at 10 am to meet the six-point demands of Prathomic Shikshak Adhikar Suraksha Forum. They also called upon all the teachers to make the programme for submitting memorandum to the Prime Minister a success on the occasion. The leaders urged the government to meet the demands including amendment of transfer policy and promotion of senior teachers to the headmaster posts immediately.
National Garments Workers Federation
A rally organised by National Garments Workers Federation was held in front of Jatiya Press Club recently. In the rally the speakers demanded proper investigation into the death of Babar Ali, an employee of Al Madina Washing Plant Limited at Hemayetpur in Savar. They also demanded adequate compensation for the family of Babar. The rally was addressed, among others, by General Secretary of the organisation Miss Safia and its central leader Faruk Khan. President of the federation Amirul Haque Amin presided over the programme.
BPDB Bangabandhu Karmakarta Parishad
Director of Employees’ Directorate of Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) Mazharul Huq and Deputy Director of Finance Directorate of BPDB Mohammad Ruhul Kabir were elected President and General Secretary respectively of the board’s Bangabandhu Karmakarta Parishad recently. A total of 35-member executive committee was formed including five vice-presidents, five joint general secretaries and five organising secretaries.
