Bangladesh-Vietnam Cultural Forum
Speakers at a meeting organised by Bangladesh-Vietnam Cultural Forum, central committee of Bangladesh chapter at its office in the city on Wednesday greeted the governments of Vietnam and China for its support to the victory of Awami League and newly formed government of the 10th parliamentary election. They also greeted people of both countries. President of the organisation Altaf Chowdhury presided over the meeting. It was addressed, among others, by Vice-President of the organisation Fakre Alam Majumder and Kazi Ashia Joynul, General Secretary Poet Rawshan Jhunu, Assistant General Secretary Nusrat Parveen, members of the central committee M Khaksar Ahmed, Satyen Biswas, Laki Khan, CK Sarker, Laila Salam and Fazlur Rahman Babu.
Bangladesh Sammilito Peshajibi Parishad
A discussion on ‘Shaheed Zia: Democracy and freedom for expressing opinion’ organised on the occasion of 78th birth anniversary of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman by Bangladesh Sammilito Peshajibi Parishad was held recently at the National Press Club in the city with Acting Convenor of the Parishad and BFUJ President Ruhul Amin Gazi in the chair. Former President Prof Dr AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury was present as the chief guest while former Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Prof Dr Emajuddin Ahmed, Founder of Ganoswasthya Kendra Dr Zafarullah Chowdhury, former President of the Supreme Court Bar Association Advocate Joynul Abedin and Professor of BRAC University Dr Pias Karim as the special guests.
