National Science Museum
A day-long seminar science motivation work was held at the auditorium of the National Science and Technology Museum (NSTM) at Agargaon in the capital yesterday. Swapoan Kumar Roy, Director General of the Museum presided over the seminar. Md Badiar Rahman, Senior Curator of the museum presented key-note paper on `The role of science club members and young scientists in creating science-minded people.’ Among others Md. Monzur Rahman, Project Director of Science and Technology Museum Comlex Project, Kazi Hasibuddin, Curator (Gen) and Sukallyan Bachar (Curator Academic) spoke on the occasion. Badiar Rahman drew a pinpoint picture on activities of the science museum through his presentation..About 250 science club members and young scientists participated in the seminar. They highlighted problems while they perform their research work time to time. They tried their best to draw kind attention of the concerned authorities in getting adequate technical and financial help for their research purpose. Among science club members and young scientists the seminar was addressed among others by Mamun Reza Russel, Rowshan Ali, Abdullah Al Mamun Siddiqui, Emdad Hossain Bhuiyan, Rasheda Akhter, Masud Alam Apollo, Ali Ahraful Alam, Rafiqul Islam and Sushanto Mollik respectively, says a press release.
Green University of Bangladesh
Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) arranged an orientation programme for freshers of Summer-2017 Semester at the University campus on Tuesday. Prof Dr Golam Samdani Fakir, VC of GUB presided over the programme while Dr Muhammed Fayyaz Khan, Pro- VC of GUB; Md. Shahid Ullah, Treasurer & Director of Student Affairs; Ltn. Gen Md. Mainul Islam (Retd), Registrar; Prof M.M. Khan, Distinguished Prof Green Business School, Prof Dr. Md. Fayzur Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Science and Engineering; Prof SMK Nazmul Haque, Controller of Examinations, Md Ashraful Anowar, Director of Account & Finance; Chairpersons of different departments, faculty members and newly admitted students were present. The programmes include introduction session, presentation session and briefing session. The presentation session focused on academic systems and rules, advising and registration process, grading systems, result processing, necessary information about GUB, different clubs and co-curricular activities. At the outset, Registrar Lt. Gen Md Mainul Islam (Retd) highlighted the background of the University, progress of the construction work of GUB Permanent Campus, made the freshers aware of its rules and regulations and also focused on the university’s achievements by a nice power point presentation, says a press release.
