Jatiya Islami Mahajote
A rally organised by Jatiya Islami Mahajote was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club in the city on Saturday. In the programme the speakers demanded people-friendly budget in the upcoming National Budget for the 2017-2018 fiscal year. They also urged the government to build non-communal Bangladesh where all the people irrespective of caste, creed and colour may live happily. The function was addressed, among others, by Secretary General of the Mahajote Maulana AM Anwar Shah, President of Jatiya Ganotantrik League MA Jalil, Chief Spokesman of the Mahajote Mufti Masum Billah Nafiyee, Leader of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal Humayun Kabir, President of Muktijoddha Palli Society Alamgir Sheikh, President of Liberal Party Maulana Mainuddin Al Kashemi, Joint General Secretary of Manobadhikar Andolon Mohammad Hanif and Chairman of Khelafat Bastobayon Andolon HM Abdul Karim. Chairman of Jatiya Islami Mahajote Khwaza Mahib Ullah Shantipuri presided over the event.
Bangladesh Swadhinata Parishad
A discussion organised by Bangladesh Swadhinata Parishad (BSP) was held at Sagar-Runi auditorium of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) in the city’s Segunbagicha on Saturday. Awami League Publicity and Publication Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud was present as the chief guest. While speaking Hasan said BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia was on a ‘killing mission’ when she was in power.”BNP is a terrorist party. Begum Zia was on a ‘killing mission’ when she was in power. Even after losing power, she is continuing the mission,” he said. Mahmud said Ziaur Rahman grabbed power through the killing of hundreds of military officials.
