Samajtantrik Mahila Forum
A women’s rally organised by Samajtantrik Mahila Forum was held on Friday in front of Jatiya Press Club on the occasion of World Mother Day. In the rally the speakers recalled the contributions of the mother for the advancement of human beings. But now-a-days mothers are being neglected everywhere. They called upon all to ensure establishment of women’s dignity and rights. The speakers also called to meet its 8-point demands including six months maternity leave with salary and stopping of repression on women and children. The programme was addressed, among others, by Advisory Committee Member of the forum Shamsunnahar Jyotsona, General Secretary of Samajtantrik Chhatra Front, Dhaka city unit Mukta Baroi, organisers Jesmin Aktar and Rukhsana Afroj Asha. General Secretary of Samajtantrik Mahila Forum Engineer Shampa Basu conducted the rally. President of the organisation Rawshan Ara Rusho presided over the event.

President and General Secretary of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) Comrade Mujahidul Islam Selim and Comrade Syed Abu Jafar Ahmed respectively in a statement on Thursday expressed satisfaction over upholding the death sentence of Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Matiur Rahman Nizami for his crimes against humanity in 1971. They demanded to execute the verdict immediately. CPB leaders also demanded to ban the anti-liberation force Jamaat-Shibir.
