Green Environment Movement
Different organisations including Green Environment Movement, Nagorik Adhikar Sangrakshan Forum, Bangladesh Scouts and Guide Fellowship Forum, Subandhan Samaj Kalyan Sangathan, Paribesh Andolon Mancha, Modern Club, Puran Dhaka Nagorik Udyag, Bangladesh Cycle Lane Bastobayon Parishad and Save The Environment Movement will form a human chain in front of Chwakbazar Shahi Mashjid in the city today at 10:30 am to meet its various demands including stoppage of mixing health hazardous chemical with different food items including Iftari. The organisations in a statement issued on Thursday called upon all to join the human chain to meet their demands for the greater interest of the people.
Youth Journalists Forum Bangladesh
A discussion on a training programme on Right to Information Act organised jointly by Youth Journalist Forum Bangladesh (YJFB) and Information Commission in association with Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom was held.at the Information Commission office in the city’s Agargaon on the 23rd instant. Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) Prof Golam Rahman was present as the chief guest. While speaking Golam Rahman called upon all employees of government and private organisations to come out of ‘restricted mentality’ to provide information to the people. “There has been a culture of concealing information everywhere in the country. We must to come out of this tendency,” he added. Rahman said removing the trend of ‘restricted mentality’ to disclose information for public is a challenge. “But we have to get out of this tendency,” he added. The CIC said the awareness of the common people about the RTI Act 2009 and its implementation will expedite overall development of the country and the nation. The function was addressed. among others, by YJFB President Kazi Golam Alauddin, General Secretary Mohiuddin Kader and journalists Abdullah Al Mahmud Mim, Nargis Kabir, Jawhar Iqbal Khan and Ekramul Islam Biplob. A total of 32 YJFB members took part in the training programme.
