Progressive Nationalist Party
A discussion marking historic Farakka and Long March Day organised by Progressive Nationalist Party was held at Dhaka Reporters Unity Hall Room in the city’s Segunbagicha on Tuesday. In the programme the speakers demanded equal water sharing of all international tivers including Teesta. The leaders of the organisation called upon all to be united to protect democracy and establishing good governance in the country. Secretary General of the organisation Ahmedur Rahman conducted the function. The discussion was addressed, among others, by Vice-Chairman of the organisation Zahangir Alam, its Publicity Secretary Abdul Aziz Bhuiyan, Labour and Industrial Affairs Secretary Bulbul Ahmed, Office Secretary Mohammad Nur Nabi and its Assistant Students Affairs Secretary Farhad Hossain. Chairman of the party Firoj Mohammad Liton presided over the event.
Bangladesh Chhatra Juba Oikya Parishad
A rally organised by Bangladesh Chhatra Juba Oikya Parishad was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club in the city on Monday. In the programme the speakers bitterly criticized the vandalizing of idols of Shib Mandir at Gosaildanga area in Chittagong. They also condemned violating of an indigenous disabled girl at Boikanthpur of Madhukhali upazila in Faridpur district. They demanded exemplary punishment to the culprits involved in these heinous crimes. The speakers also urged the government to take necessary steps to protect the people of religious minority. A procession was also brought out in the city in favour of their demands. The rally was addressed, among others, by General Secretary of the parishad Ramen Mondol, Manindra Kumar Nath, Advocate Shyamol Kumar Roy, Kishore Ranjan Mondol, Kishore Kumar Basu Roy Chowdhury Pintu, Brajogopal Devnath and Rebeka Gomes. President of the organisation Nirmal Kumar Chatterjee presided over the function.
