Online Press Unity
A discussion organised on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day by Online Press Unity was held in the auditorium of Bangladesh Photojournalists Association in the city on Tuesday. In the discussion the speakers warned that no conspiracy would be tolerated centering online. They will resist all the conspiracies hatched by anti-liberation forces Jamaat-Shibir. The programme was addressed, among others, by Secretary General of Online Press Unity Shanata Farzana, its Vice-Chairman Sheikh Habib Khokon, Samiron Roy, Joint Secretary General Moniruzzaman Monir and Apon Dey Apu. Chairman of the unity Momin Mehedi presided over the event.
Bangladesh Puja Udjapon Parishad
Leaders of Bangladesh Puja Udjapon Parishad in a statement have expressed deep condolence over the death of Minati Chakravarty, mother of Joint Secretary of Bangladesh Mahila Oikya Parishad, Assistant Secretary of Mahanagar Sarbojanin Puja Committee and Vice-President of Chhatra Jubo Oikya Parishad Madhuri Chakravarty Mili. They have also extended profound sympathy to the bereaved family members and prayed for the salvation of the departed soul. It may be mentioned that Minati died of old-age complications at a hospital in the city on Monday at the age of 68. She left behind four daughters, three sons, a host of relatives, friends and admirers to mourn her death.
