A-three member Chinese delegation led by Ms. Shirley Zhang, CEO, Ningbo OSDA Solar Co. Ltd., OSDA, China called on Professor Abdul Mannan, Chairman, University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh at UGC auditorium recently. Dr. AKM Waliul Islam, Professor and Academic Adviser, Stamford University Bangladesh and Mr. ASM, Abdul Motin, Chairman, Global Resource Augmentation and Management Ltd. assisted Ms. Shirley during the meeting. Ms. Shirley offered to recruit Bangladeshi graduates for higher studies in China. The Chairman of UGC briefed the delegation about the mandate of UGC in promoting higher education in Bangladesh. Terming the proposal as positive, Professor Mannan urged the delegation to submit a written proposal to UGC. He observed that Bangladesh is also willing to work with China on internationalization of higher education. Prof Dr. Mohammad Yousuf Ali Mollah, Dr. Dil Afroza Begum, Dr. M. Shah Nowaz Ali, Members, UGC were present during the meeting. Dr. Md. Khaled, Secretary, UGC and other high officials, were also present, says a press release.
Centre for Interreligious & Intercultural Dialogue
The Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (CIID) of the University of Dhaka and Happy Science, a global spiritual organization of Japan will jointly hold a seminar on “Think Big–How to get spiritual success in your life: A Japanese way of thinking” today ( April 13) at 4pm at the R C Majumder Arts Auditorium (Lecture Theatre Building) University of Dhaka. Rev. Tetsu Sato, Head Minister and Regional Director, South Asia, Happy Science, Japan, will be the keynote speaker. Prof Dr Nasreen Ahmad, Pro-VC (Academic) of the University of Dhaka will inaugurate the seminar as Chief Guest. Prof Dr. Abu Md. Delwar Hosain, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, University of Dhaka, will be present as special guest. Dr Kazi Nurul Islam, Founding Chair, Department of World Religions and Culture, University of Dhaka, will be one of the discussants. Dr Father Tapan De Rozario, Chairman of the Department of World Religions and Culture, will deliver the welcome address. Dr. Fazrin Huda, Director of CIID will preside over the programme.
