Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal
A rally organised by Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal (Marxist) was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club in the city on Tuesday in protest against US Missile attack in Syria. In the rally the speakers bitterly criticized the heinous attack and said the attack is nothing but a gross violation of human rights. They urged world leaders to take necessary steps to stop such attack. From the programme they also urged the government of Bangladesh for requesting US to stop missile attack immediately. The leaders of the organisation also called upon all left democratic forces to be vocal against such type of attack with a view to establishing peace in the world. The programme was addressed, among others, by members of the executive committee of the organisation Comrade Manosh Nandi, Comrade Fakhruddin Kabir Atik and Comrade Zahirul Islam. Member of the organisation Comrade Shuvrangshu Chakravarty presided over the event.
Bangladesh Government Pry School Teachers Association
A discussion meeting between Bangladesh Government Primary School Teachers Association and Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith was held in the conference room of the Finance Ministry on Monday. In the meeting Finance Minister assured the primary school teachers of considering to solve the salary discrimination between assistant teachers and headmasters. “There exists a committee to remove the salary discrimination. We will take necessary steps to solve the discrimination according to the committee’s recommendations,” he said this while speaking with leaders of the association. During the meeting, primary school teachers placed a set of demands, including providing time scale for removing salary discrimination between assistant teachers and headmasters before the minister. Muhith said “We will go forward for solving the problem on the basis of the meeting”.
