Jatiya Ganotantrik League
A discussion organised by Jatiya Ganotntrik League was held in the auditorium of Bangladesh Shishu Kalyan Parishad in the city’ Topkhana Road on Saturday. In the discussion the speakers demanded to give Nobel Peace Prize to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her pioneering role to eradicate terrorism and communalism and also establishing rule of law through trial of war criminals. The programee was addressed, among others, by President of Bangladesh Nationalists Front SM Abul Kalam Azad, MP, labour leader Israfil Alam, MP, historian Siraj Uddin Ahmed, peasants’ leader Sheikh Mohammad Zahangir Alam, JSD leader Humayun Kabir and advocate Abul Kalam Azad. President of the organisation MA Jalil presided over the event.
Bangladesh Hindu Buddha Christian Adibashi Party
A human chain was formed by Bangladesh Hindu Buddha Christian Adibashi Party in front of Jatiya Press Club in the city on Friday. In the programme the speakers demanded of the government to constitute tribunal for the trial of those involved in repression on the people of minority community. They also urged the government to give exemplary punishment to the culprits through the tribunal for the greater interest of minority people. The human chain was addressed, among others, by Prof Dr Gopal Chandra Devnath, veteran politician NAM Abed Raza, cultural activist Farid Ahmed, president of Ramsita Mandir Ganesh Ghosh and former students’ leader Saifuddin Moni. President of the organisation Mithun Chowdhury presided over the human chain programme.
