Imarat Nirman Sramik Union Bangladesh
A discussion on the glorious Independence Day organised by Imarat Nirman Sramik Union Bangladesh (INSUB) was held at Mirhazirbag WASA Road in the city’s Shyampur on the 28th instant. In the programme the speakers paid rich tributes to the martyred freedom fighters who laid down their lives during the Liberation War in 1971 for the country’s independence. They called upon all pro-liberation forces to forge united movement to resist militancy and terrorism. The function was addressed, among others, by Syed Abu Hossain Babla, MP, one of the 14-party leaders Dr Wazedul Islam Khan, President of INSUB Mohammad Rabiul Islam, its General Secretary Mohammad Abdur Razzak. INSUB President, Jatrabari thana unit Mohammad Sharif Miah conducted the event. President of the organisation, Shyampur thana unit Mohammad Jalal Ahmed presided over the event.
Awami Sangskritik Jote
A discussion organised by Awami Sangskritik Jote (ASJ) was held at the Institution of Diploma Engineers’ Bangladesh (IDEB) in the city marking its 24th founding anniversary. Food Minister Advocate Quamrul Islam was present as the chief guest. While speaking Quamrul urged all to remain vigil and raise voice against militancy as well as their cohorts who want to turn the country into a militant state. Criticizing the BNP-Jamaat’ role, Quamrul said they (BNP-Jamaat) are the main patronizer of militancy. He urged the parents to remain alert so that their children could not get involved with militant acts. The function was addressed, among others, by Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha Managing Director and Chief Editor Abul Kalam Azad, IDEB President AKM Hamid, its General Secretary Shamsur Rahman, former lawmaker Tahura Ali and ASJ General Secretary Ahmed Elias. While speaking Azad said, “It’s known to all who is patronizing militancy directly. We have to resist them. The country will move towards darkness if we cannot resist it right now.”
