Ophthalmological Society of Bangladesh
The 44th conference of the Ophthalmological Society of Bangladesh was held at Krishibid Institution, Bangladesh (KIB) in the city’s Khamarbari on Thursday.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim was present as the chief guest. While speaking Nasim said BNP started criticising the newly formed Election Commission (EC) only to create pressure on it. The minister said the newly formed EC even did not start doing any work till date, but BNP in the meantime started spreading falsehood against the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and other Election Commissioners. Apart from the BNP, other political parties have taken the new EC very positively, he said. The minister called upon the patients and their family members not to vandalise the hospitals or harass any physicians for anything. He urged the victims and their family members to lodge complaints, if they have any, with the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) and necessary action will be taken in this regard. The function was also addressed, among others, by Prime Minister’s former adviser Dr Modasser Ali and former Director General (DG) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Deen Muhammad Nurul Haque. President of the society Prof Dr Sharfuddin Ahmed presided over the event.
