Daffodil Entrepreneurs Forum
Daffodil Entrepreneurs Forum (DEF) of Daffodil International University organized “Daffodil Entrepreneurs MeetUp-2017” at Banquet Hall of the university yesterday . In the MeetUp program, about 300 DIU Alumni Entrepreneurs and some startup students participated and addressed in a round table discussion with Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil International University (DIU). Prof Dr. Farid A. Sobhani, Director, HRDI , Syed Maruf Reza, Head, Department of Entrepreneurship of DIU were also present. Md. Sabur Khan announced to bring all entrepreneurs under a connecting platform through a Directory Management of Daffodil Entrepreneurs Forum (DEF) where all entrepreneurs will be facilitated to promote their business ventures and newly startups with a B2B networking and Daffodil Business Incubator as DEF has already ensured more than 700 entrepreneurs including startup and successful entrepreneurs who have established their business in home and abroad, and created more than 7000 job opportunities. The programme will be kept continuing yearly and bring some changes in the MeetUp-2018. Very soon an Association naming “Startup Bangladesh” as Chamber of Business will be announced where all current participants will be the prioritized members.
 BAF Shaheen College
The Annual Cultural Progamme and Prize Giving Ceremony- 2017 of BAF Shaheen College, Kurmitola was held at School premises yesterday. Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Admin) Air Vice Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat, BBP, OSP, ndu, psc graced the ceremony as Chief Guest and distributed prizes among the outstanding students of the college. Later, he witnessed a delightful cultural programme portrayed by the budding artists of BAF Shaheen College, Kurmitola. High officials of the Bangladesh Air Force, teachers, parents and students of the College were present in the ceremony, says a press release.
Wales-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce
A trade delegation from Wales-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce (WBCC) led by its Chairman Dilabor A Hussain called on President of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) Abul Kasem Khan and the Members of the Board of Directors at DCCI yesterday. DCCI President Abul Kasem Khan in welcoming the delegation said that Wales and Bangladesh both are land of opportunities where entrepreneurship is vibrant and increasing day by day. He also called upon the entrepreneurs of Wales to invest in infrastructure, RMG, leather, shipbuilding, pharmaceuticals and automotive industry sector of Bangladesh. He also said that Bangladesh and Wales should increase trade related programs to boost the trade between the two parties. He said that bilateral trade between Bangladesh and Wales is increasing day by day.
DCCI President informed that Bangladesh government offers different incentives and packages for the foreign investors. He urged the delegation members to invest in Bangladesh enjoying these incentive facilities. Chairman of WBCC Dilabor A Hussain invited Bangladeshi potential entrepreneurs to invest in Wales by utilizing various incentive programmes provided by Welsh government. He assured of all kinds of support from WBCC to the interested Bangladeshi entrepreneurs in Wales. He also urged upon both the Chambers to have regular business networking. He said WBCC will organize a trade expo in Wales in 2018 to showcase handicrafts, tourism, IT sector and manufacturing sector. DCCI  Senior Vice President Kamrul Islam, FCA, Vice President Hossain A Sikder, Directors Imran Ahmed, K. Atique-e-Rabbani, FCA, KMN Manjurul Hoque, Kh. Rashedul Ahsan, Mamun Akbar, Md. Alauddin Malik, and DCCI Secretary AHM Rezaul Kabir were present, says a press release.
