BD Secretariat Reporters Forum
The newly elected body of Bangladesh Secretariat Reporters Forum (BSRF)made a courtesy call on Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu at his ministry office on Thursday.They discussed issues related to the development of journalism and sought each other’s cooperation to perform professional duties properly within Bangladesh Secretariat. The minister assured the journalists of extending his all out cooperation and urged them to maintain a high standard of journalism profession. Principal Information Officer AKM Shamim Chowdhury, BSRF President Shayamal Sarker, General Secretary Mohsin Ashraf and other office-bearers of the forum were present on the occasion.

A three-day science and industry-technology fair has begun on the campus of Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR) in the city’s Dhanmondi on Thursday. Science and Technology Minister Yafes Osman inaugurated the fair as the chief guest. While speaking Yafes said prevention of militancy is possible by drawing the new generation to science and technology. “There is no alternative to science and technology to bring the new generation to the right track,” he added. The minister said the new generation is advancing in science and technology.They are very meritorious, he said and appreciated their presentations in the science fair. The inaugural function was also addressed, among others, by Barrister Fazle Noor Taposh, MP, BCSIR Member (admin) Abdul Mabud. BCSIR Chairman Faruque Ahmed presided over the function. A total of 164 science and technology projects are on the display in the fair along with the research activities of BCSIR and goods manufactured by industrial entrepreneurs following the BCSIR innovated methods. Inventors, including students of different schools and colleges in the city and other areas of the country are taking part in the fair.The fair will remain open from 10 am to 7 pm till today.
