The inaugural ceremony of 8th congress of Samyabadi Dal was held at Mahanagar Natyamanch in the city’s Gulistan on 27th instant. Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim was present as the chief guest. While speaking Nasim said BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has made the caretaker government system controversial so next national election will be held under the incumbent government. “National election is held under elected government in the whole world. So, the next general election of Bangladesh will also be held under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” he added. About the constitution of Election Commission (EC), Nasim, also spokesman of 14-party alliance, said the alliance will accept the decision that will be taken by President Abdul Hamid after holding dialogues with all political parties over the formation of EC. The minister said BNP always create controversies over any good task. About the Narayanganj City Corporation polls, Nasim said the defeated candidate in the polls stated that the election was held in a free, fair and neutral manner. “But BNP is making misleading remakes over the NCC polls. It is their old habit,” Nasim said. The function was addressed, among others, by the leaders and activists of the organisation.

A discussion organised by Jatiya Sramik League was held in front of Awami League’s office at Bangabandhu Avenue in the city on Tuesday. Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader was present as the chief guest. While speaking Quader said BNP has been facing debacle in the politics of election like the movement. “BNP is now making erratic behavior following the defeat and the party has turned into a failed political party,” he told The minister said BNP is now hatching conspiracy to create instability in the readymade garments sector after losing the Narayanganj City Corporation polls. “BNP is instigating terrorism to destroy the
communal harmony to halt the development activities of the country,” he said. The minster urged the party leaders and workers to work together to strengthen Awami League to take ahead the country’s development activities. In the programme AL Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif said late Ziaur Rahman had divided the nation by destroying the spirit of the Liberation War and the nation has been paying high price for it. The programme was also addressed, among others, by leaders of the organisation.
