Amrai Pari Paribarik Nirjaton Protirodh Jote
A human chain organised by Amrai Pari Paribarik Nirjaton Protirodh Jote was formed in the city on Monday. In the programme the speakers demanded to clean and renovation of the city’s Ramchandrapur Canal without any delay. The human chain was attended, among others, by Coordinator of the organisation Zinat Ara Haque, President of Nabodoy Bahumukhi Samobaya Samity LR Khan Yusuf Jai, its Secretary Salauddin Al Azad, Advocate Shihab Ahmed Siraji and GIS expert Sajjad Hossain.
Bangladesh Jubo Moitri
A discussion marking the 27th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Jubo Moitri was held in front of Workers Party Office in the city’s Topkhana Road. Workers Party President and Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon was present as the chief guest. While speaking Menon called upon the youths to be united against all sorts of corruption, encroachment and torture. He said terrorism and communalism are now not only a national issue for a country rather these have spread all over the world. The programme was also addressed, among others, by Workers Party General Secretary Fazle Hossain Badsha, Bangladesh Jubo Moitri General Secretary Sabbah Ali Khan and Vice-President Jahangir Alam Fazlu. President of the organisation Mostafa Alamgir Ratan presided over the event.
Puja Udjapan Parishad
A memorial meeting for Fanibhushan Chowdhury, former member of the Public Service Commission organised by Puja Udjapan Parishad was held recently at Dhakeshwari Temple in the city. People from all walks of lives, including bureaucrats, academicians, relatives and journalists attended the function which was followed by prayers and lunch. Participants in the memorial meeting recalled the contributions of Fanibhushan and prayed for the salvation of his departed soul.The programme was addressed, among others, by Chairman of National Board of Revenue (NBR) Nazibur Rahman, PSC Member Uzzal Bikash Datta, CHT Affairs Secretary Naba Bikram Kishore Tripura, former secretaries Ranjit Kumar Biswas and Shyamol Kanti Ghosh. Sector Commander CR Datta, Bir Uttam, former high commissioner Prof Neem Chandra Bhoumik and President of Puja Udjapan Parishad Jayanta Sen Dipu also attended the meeting, among others.
