A view-exchange meeting with the teachers of Mirpur Mahmuda Chowdhury College of Kushtia organised by Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) was held in the district on Friday. Information Minister and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal President Hasanul Haq Inu was present as the chief guest. While speaking Inu called upon all to keep the patrons of militants, terrorists, arson attackers and corrupt individuals away from politics. “It’s a big challenge for us to keep terrorists, militants and corrupt individuals out of politics to save the country,” he told journalists after the view-exchange meeting. The minister said, “We must free the politics from the vested quarters now favours the arson attackers and militants. The meeting was attended, among others, by JSD district unit President Golam Mohsin, Upazila Nirbari Officer (UNO) Mahabub Rahman and Additional Police Super Quamrul Islam. The speakers called upon all to be united against militancy and fundamentalism for the greater interest of the nation.
Bangladesh NGO Foundation
The 12th founding anniversary of Bangladesh NGO Foundation (BNF) was observed in a befitting manner on Friday through holding rally and discussion meeting in Faridpur. On the occasion a rally was brought out by members of a number of NGOs in the town. Deputy Commissioner, Faridpur Umme Salma Tanzia and Police Super Subhash Chandra Ghose attended the rally, among others. NGO personality Azharul Islam chaired the post-rally discussion meeting. ADC (Gen) Protap Chandra Biswas was the chief guest at the function. A multimedia presentation on activities of the NGOs working in the district was made on the occasion. Different NGOs including Poor Welfare Organisation (PWO), Pathakali Sangstha, Gotti Gramin Mahila Unnyan Samity, Eso Jati Gori, Barsha Foundation, Rishada Bangladesh, Centre for Studies in Sustainable Development, Bangladesh Social Development Services, Amra Kaj Kori (AKK), Daridra Mukta Bangladesh, ROA, Social Organisation for Voluntary Advancement and Beneficiaries Friendship Forum (BFF) participated in the programme.
