Bangladesh Protibandhi Kalyan Samity
A two-day job fair for the physically challenged people jointly organised by Bangladesh Protibandhi Kalyan Samity (BPKS) along with JOBSBD and private Daffodil International University will be held in the city’s Krishibid Institution on April 23 and 24.The fair is organised in order to create employment opportunities for the physically challenged people who hardly get employment opportunities to prove their worth. The fair is expected to be the meeting spot for both employers and potential job seekers.The fair will start at 10.00 am and will continue up to 5.00pm every day.
Greater Dhaka Journalists’ Forum
The new committee of greater Dhaka Journalists’ Forum has been formed at a meeting held in Jatiya Press Club (JPC) on Thursday. Senior journalist Farid Hossain has been made convener of the 16-member committee while Ahmed Selim Reza of the daily Bangladesh Protidin its member secretary. Shahin Chowdhury, Editor of abnews24bd.com and Bhanu Ranjan Chakraborty, head of news of ATN Bangla, have been made joint conveners of the committee. Members of the committee are Managing Director and Chief Editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Abul Kalam Azad, journalists Swapan Saha, Abdul Jalil Bhuiyan (Daily Star), Farida Yesmin (Daily Ittefaq), Hasan Hafiz, Md Lutfar Rahman Binu, Ataur Rahman (BSS), Abdul Halim Chowdhury, Monir Hossain Liton (Ekattar TV), Md Momin Hossain, Kalyan Saha and Ajit Kumar Roy. Former General Secretary of the JPC Swapan Saha presided over the programme.
Retired Teachers’ Forum
A discussion on Independence Day organised by Retired Teachers’ Forum (RTF) of Faridpur was held at Ambica Memorial Hall in the town recently. The function was presided over by Forum President Prof Mian Lutfar Rahman while Awami League leader and Sadar Upazila Chairman Khondoker Mohtesham Hossain Babor attended as the chief guest. The discussion was participated, among others, by Syed Mozammel Haque, Prof. ABM Sattar, Awami League district unit President and also a former teacher Advocate Subal Chandra Saha. A speech competition for secondary students titled ‘Bangabandhu and Liberation War’ was also held on the occasion. The students and teachers present in the hall were enthralled by the voice of Enamul Haque Imon, a student of Ansaruddin High School. Enamul who delivered Bangabandhu’s historic speech of March 7, 1971 imitated the voice of Bangabandhu so correctly that he got repeated applause from the audience.
