A free medical camp organised by Ismail Foundation was held in Muraridaho area in Jhenidah on Saturday to provide free medical treatment to poor patients. About 200 patients were given treatment and free medicine in the camp.Dr Md Jahidur Rahman of Munsur Ali Medical College of Dhaka, Dr Md Tanjilur Rahman of Faridpur Medical College and Dr Md Mushfiqur Rashid of Khulna Medical College attended the camp.
Khaled Mosharraf Smriti Parishad
A discussion organised by Major Gen Khaled Mosharraf Bir Uttam Smriti Parishad was held at the Public Library auditorium in the city recently in observance of Freedom Fighters Killing Day. Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq was present as the chief guest. While speaking Mozammel said Ziaur Rahman would be brought to justice posthumously on charge of killing freedom fighters, taking over power illegally and misusing power. ‘Ziaur Rahman killed many freedom fighters like Khaled Mosharraf and rehabilitated anti-liberation forces in the country after the August 15 carnage, he told. The minister said Ziaur Rahman and Khandkar Mostaq had hatched conspiracy even during the Liberation War. “Khaled Mosharraf did not betray with the nation in a way Ziaur Rahman did,” he added. The programme was addressed, among others, by eminent jurist Barrister Amir-ul-Islam, National University (NU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Harun-or-Rashid, Khaled Mosharraf’s daughter Mehjabeen Khaled, MP, Jatiya Press Club President Shafiqur Rahman, Captain (retd) Shachin Karmakar and Mahbub Uddin, Bir Bikram. President of the parishad Salma Khaled presided over the function.
