Islami Oikya Jote
A convention organised by Islami Oikya Jote (IOJ), Dhaka city unit was held on Saturday in the city’s Rahmania Convention Center. Chairman of Islami Oikya Jote Misbahur Rahman Chowdhury was present as the chief guest. While speaking Misbahur termed Jamaat-e-Islami as a mother organisation of all militant outfits. He urged the countrymen to remain alert against conspiracy of Jamaat-Shibir as they are resorting to falsehood to gain ill-political motive. They (Jamaat-e-Islami) have set up business organisations collecting money in the name of Islam, he added. The programme was addressed, among others, by Secretary General of Islami Oikya Jote Maulana Khairuzzaman Rabbani and its Joint Secretary General Maulana Abu Hanif. Chairman of IOJ. Dhaka City Unit Maulana Mosharraf Hossain presided over the event.

A seminar organised by Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), Dhaka chapter was held in the city on Saturday marking the Cyber Security Awareness Month-2016. In the programme the speakers put emphasis on creating mass awareness as well as undertaking joint steps from public and private sectors to combat the threats over internet.They said it’s not possible for the government alone to achieve the target of safe cyber space and so every citizen has to contribute from own domain to secure the connectivity. They said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina declared her Vision 2021 programme in 2008 to build Bangladesh as a technology-driven nation with the ‘Digital Bangladesh’ concept. The function was addressed, among others, by BTRC Chairman Shahjahan Mahmood, ISACA Dhaka chapter President AKM Nazrul Haider, BUP Law Department head Prof Zulfiquar Ahmed, DIU Software Engineering Department head Towhid Bhuiyan and ISACA Dhaka Chapter Secretary Omar Faruk Khandaker. First President of the organisation Ali Ashfak presided over the function.
