BD Air Force Women’s Welfare Assoc
Stipends were handed over to 334 meritorious students for their outstanding performance in SSC, HSC, ‘O’ and ‘A’ level examinations this year at a ceremony organised recently by Bangladesh Air Force Women’s Welfare Association (BAFWWA). President of BAFWWA Tasneem Esrar handed over the cheques of stipends among the brilliant students as the chief guest at Falcon Hall in the city’s Tejgaon area. A total of 135 students for achieving golden GPA-5 in SSC and HSC examinations, 197 for achieving general GPA-5 in SSC and HSC examinations and two students for achieving ‘A’ grade in at least six subjects of ‘O’ level examination got the stipends from BAFWWA. Vice-Presidents of Central BAFWWA, Spouses of senior BAF officers, Directors of Air Headquarters, Principals of BAF Shaheen School and Colleges and guardians of stipend recipients were present on the occasion.
Muktir Sangram Samajik Sangathan
A rally organised by ‘Muktir Sangram Samajik Sangathan (MSSS)’ was held at Buriurhat High School under Taraganj upazila in Rangpur in protest against corruption, militancy, and communalism. The common people from all walks of life become united to resist militancy and conspiracies against the country to accelerate the pace of national development. A large number of students, teachers, youths, civil society members, religious leaders, and farmers participated in the programme. The event was addressed among others, by local elite Nur Mohammad, Mozaffar Hossain, women community leaders Shahida Begum and Salma Akhter Lipi. The speakers laid emphasis on strengthening the ‘Para’ and ‘Moholla’ based committees, involving the common people, for preventing corruption and militancy to establish peace in the society. President of MSSS Abdul Hakim presided over the programme.
