Bangladesh Hindu Jatiya Mohajote
A discussion on ‘Security in Forthcoming Durga Puja and Thoughts of Hindu Community’ organised by Bangladesh Hindu Jatiya Mohajote was held at Dhaka Reporters Unity’s Sagor-Runi auditorium. Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Unity Council General Secretary Rana Das Gupta was present as the chief guest. While speaking Rana sought cooperation of political parties and all irrespective of political affiliation to help ensure security during the forthcoming Durga Puja. “All irrespective of caste, creed and colour would have to come forward with positive mentality so that no evil force can hamper security during the Puja,” he added. The function was also addressed, among others, by Secretary General of the organisation Ananda Kumar Biswas, its Chief Coordinator Shyamol Kumar Roy, Bharot Sebashram Chief Sangitananda Moharaj, ISKCon President Satyaranjan Baroi, Sat Sangha Research Centre Director Engineer Prodip Kumar Mandal and Sat Sangha Pakutia Chief Engineer Amal Chanda Roy. President of the Mohajote Probhash Chandra Roy presided over the event.
Masterda Surya Sen Hall Alumni Association
A discussion on celebration the golden jubilee of Masterda Surya Sen Hall of Dhaka University organised by Masterda Surya Sen Hall Alumni Association (MSSHAA) was held recently at the Senate Building on the university campus. In the discussion a decision was taken to observe the golden jubilee of the Hall on January 28 next. The decision was taken unanimously with the Convenor of the golden jubilee celebration committee and provost of the hall Prof Dr Maksud Kamal in the chair. After the discussion the committee launched a website titled
www.suryasenhalldu.com. Vice-Chancellor of the university Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique formally inaugurated the website. Prime Minister’s Media Adviser Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, Senior Secretary of the Industries Ministry Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, Senior Secretary of the Water Resources Ministry Dr Zafar Ahmed Khan, Education Secretary Sohrab Hossain and renowned IT expert Mustafa Jabbar were present at the programme, among others. In the event it was also decided to unveil the bust of Masterda Surya Sen.
