Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad
The extending meeting of Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad (BPUP) was held at Shri Shri Dhakeswari Jatiya Mandir premises in the city on Friday. In the meeting leaders of the BPUP urged the people of the Hindu community to celebrate the Durga Puja amid enthusiasm.The Durga Puja will be celebrated at 29,395 Puja Mandap this year across the country. Last year, there were 29,071 Puja Mandap across the country, the leaders said. State Minister for Youth and Sports Dr Biren Sikder spoke as the chief guest on the occasion. The programme was also addressed, among others, by Additional Inspector General of Police (IGP) Krishnapada Roy.
