Swadhinata Chikitsak Parishad
The 136-member Central Executive Committee of Swadhinata Chikitsak Parishad (Swachip) has been announced in the city on Saturday with Prof Dr Iqbal Arslan as President and Prof Dr Mohammad Abdul Aziz as its Secretary General respectively.The committee of Swachip, an associate body of Bangladesh Awami League, has been announced with the approval of the organisation’s top leader Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also the President of Bangladesh Awami League. The committee’s Vice-Presidents are- Dr Kanak Kanti Barua, Dr Jamal Uddin Chowdhury, Dr Abdur Rouf Sarder, Dr Rokeya Sultana, Dr Ehsanul Kabir Joglu, Dr AFM Rafiqul Alam, Dr Sheikh Baharul Alam, Dr Ehteshamul Haque Dulal, Dr Mohsinuzzaman Chowdhury, Dr Tabibur Rahman Sheikh and Dr ALKM Shariful Islam.Dr Abu Yusuf Fakir was made Treasurer of the organisation while Joint Secretary Generals are- Dr ASM Zakaria, Dr Uttam Kumar Barua and Dr Zulfiqar Ali Lenin.
Bangabandhu Academy
A discussion on ‘Ongoing Politics’ organised by Bangabandhu Academy was held in the
auditorium of the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDE,B) in the city’s Kakrail on Friday. Awami League Publicity and Publication Affairs Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud was present as the chief guest. While speaking Hasan said that the country was liberated under the leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. As part of a conspiracy to put Bangabandhu and Ziaur Rahman at the same stature, they were simultaneously decorated with the Independence Award which was a deplorable incident. For this reason Bangladesh Awami League rejected it. The event was addressed, among others by Dhaka City unit Samyabadi Dal President Haroon
Chowdhury, Assistant Secretaries to Awami League sub-committee Ishkandar Mirza Shameem & MA Karim and Secretary General of the academy Humayun Kabir Mizi. Adviser of the organisation Chitta Ranjan Das presided over the function.
