Bangladesh Ulema Mashaekh Oikya Jote
A discussion and doa mahfil marking the National Mourning Day commemorating martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his other family members organised by Bangladesh Ulema Mashaekh Oikya Jote was held in the VIP Lounge of Dhaka Reporters Unity on Tuesday. In the programme Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque was present as the chief guest. While speaking the minister said the defeated forces of the Liberation War killed Bangabandhu. He called upon all to be united against this evil forces for the greater interest of the nation. The event was addressed, among others, by noted Islami thinker Shaikh Khondkar Golam Moula Nakshebandi as the chief discussant, Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Arif Khan Joy, Sub-Sector Commander Mahbub Uddin Bir Bikram and former President of BGMEA Abdus Salam Morshedi. A munajat was also offered for the salvation of the departed souls of those who were assassinated in 1975 carnage.
BD Auditors Welfare Assoc
A rally organised by Bangladesh Auditors Welfare Association (BAWA) was brought out in the city on Monday in protest against militancy and communalism marking theNational Mourning Day commemorating martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan was present as the chief guest. While speaking the minister expressed his optimism that militants and terrorists would not be able to prolong their stay in the country as the people became united against terrorism and militancy. “The militants as well as terrorists would no more be able to consolidate their position in the society,” he added. The minister said the war criminals, killers of Bangabandhu in 1975 and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia now became united to patronize militancy and terrorism to destabilize the country, adding, “They would not succeed in their design by hatching conspiracies.”
The rally was also addressed, among others, by former Chairman of Muktijoddha Sangsad Kabir Ahmed Khan and Film Director Rokeya Prachi.
