Juba Moitree
A discussion organised by Juba Moitree was held at Shaheed Asad auditorium in the city’s Topkhana Road recently. Leaders of the organisation said the anti-liberation BNP-Jamaat combine has been patronising the militant forces to establish Pakistani ideologies to jeopardise country’s political stability.They said BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has again showed her thumb to the people of the country by inducting wards of Rajakars in her party’s central committee. Appreciating the government for the ongoing drive against terrorists and militants, the leaders called upon the law enforcement agencies including police not to harass common people including bachelors, unemployed persons and working people during the drive. The programme was addressed, among others, by General Secretary of the organisation Sabbah Ali Khan Collins, its Vice-Presidents Shaheed Hasan Siddiqui Swapan, Tipu Sultan, MP, Jahangir Alam Fazlu and Murshida Akhter Daisy. Juba Moitree President Mostafa Alamgir Ratan presided over the event.
Communist Party of Bangladesh
President and General Secretary of the Communist Party of Bangladesh Comrade Mujahidul Islam Selim and Comrade Syed Abu Zafar Ahmed in a statement on Monday bitterly criticized the police attacks on the students of Jagannath University and leaders and activists of Bangladesh Students’ Union (BSU). They demanded exemplary punishment to the attackers. The leaders also urged the government to meet the demands of the students of Jagannath University on their residential hall issue. The leaders expressed their solidarity with the demands of BSU and give exemplary punishment to the culprits involved in killing BSU activist and a meritorious student Afsana Ferdous. The leaders called upon all to build greater movement if their demands are not met immediately.
