Awami Swechchhasebak League
A photography exhibition organised by Awami Swechchhasebak League (ASL) was held in front of the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in the city’s Dhanmondi on Saturday on the occasion of the 41st martyrdom anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning Day. Awami League Advisory Council member Advocate Yusuf Hossain Humayun inaugurated the three-day exhibition titled ‘Etihas Kotha Koy’ as the chief guest. While speaking Yusuf Hossain Humayun called upon all to be united against militancy and communalism. The programme was attended, among others, by Pro Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Prof M Akhtaruzzaman, ASL General Secretary Pankaj Debnath and its Liberation War Affairs Secretary Rafiqul Islam Liton. ASL President Advocate Mollah M Abu Kawser presided over the function.
Communist Party of Bangladesh
Leaders of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) in a statement urged the government to take necessary steps to make all information and documents related to the assassination of Bangabandhu public which are now being preserved in the archives of different countries including USA, Pakistan, India and Russia, besides Bangladesh. On the eve of the National Mourning Day, CPB President Comrade Mujahidul Islam Selim and General Secretary Syed Abu Jafar Ahmed made this call on Friday while expressing deep respect to the memory of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Although the Father of the Nation was killed by local and foreign reactionary groups including imperialists, but his immortal feat will remain ever fresh, said the CPB leaders.They also demanded execution of the fugitive killers of Bangabandhu after bringing them back to the country. At the same time, they have urged to unearth all the local and foreign conspiracies behind the killing of Bangabandhu and bring those involved with theconspiracy under the purview of trial.
