Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal
A rally jointly organised by Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal (BSD) and Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) was held in front of Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) in the city on Thursday. In the rally the speakers bitterly criticized the decision to hike price of gas. They called upon the people from all walks of life to forge movement against the government’s anti-people plan. The speakers also demanded public hearing on the proposal for reducing price of gas. The programme was addressed, among others, by CPB President Comrade Mujahidul Islam Selim, General Secretary of BSD Comrade Khalequzzaman, Presidium Member of CPB Ahsan Habib Lablu, Central Committee Member of BSD Comrade Rajekuzzaman Ratan and CPB Central Committee Member Kazi Ruhul Amin.
Awami Swechchhasebak League
A discussion organised by Awami Swechchhasebak League (ASL) was held in front of the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at 32, Dhanmondi in the city on Thursday marking the National Mourning Day commemorating the 41st anniversary of martyrdom of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Awami League General Secretary and Minister for Public Administration Syed Ashraful Islam was present as the chief guest. While speaking the minister said that the people’s fight against those who have been fighting against the country will go on. He said those who have been pursuing duel-policy and making remarks about the action of the joint forces and killing of the militant attackers on Holey Artisan Bakery in the city’s Gulshan area and shedding crocodiles’ tears should leave the country and go to Libya, Syria and Iraq. The programme was also addressed, among others, by Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif and ASL General Secretary Pankaj Debnath. ASL President Advocate Mollah Md Abu Kowser presided over the function.
