Jatiya Party
Jatiya Party has taken programmes to celebrate ‘Mujib Barsha’ marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. As part of the programmes, leaders of Jatiya Party will pay respect to the Father of the Nation at his portrait at Dhanmondi Road no. 32 on March 17. Jatiya Party chairman and deputy leader of the opposition in Parliament GM Quader and other senior leaders will place wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu at 11am, said a press release. Jatiya Party senior co-chairman, co-chairmen and party secretary general will attend the programme.
Dhaka University Alumni Association
President of Dhaka University Alumni Association (DUAA) A K Azad on Saturday said the former students of the university should take the oath to develop the university and turn it into a world class one in the ‘Mujib year’. “The renowned universities of the world are being advancing with the contribution of their Alumni members,” he told while inaugurating an online registration method of Haji Muhammad Mohsin hall Alumni Association at Dhaka University campus here today. Azad said many former students of the university are now in top positions of different institutions and they should help the students who are unemployed after graduating from the university. Alumni Association of Haji Muhammad Mohsin Hall inaugurated an online registration method to recruit new members. Provost of Haji Muhammad Mohsin hall and Dhaka University Teachers’ Association (DUTA) general secretary Dr Nizamul Hoque Bhuiyan, Vice-Chancellor of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) Professor Major Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, Mohsin hall union Vice President (VP) Shahidul Haque Shishir, General Secretary (GS) Mehedi Hasan Mizan and Mohsin hall union alumni members were also present on the occasion.
Justice KM Sobhan Memorial Trust
The Justice KM Sobhan Memorial Trust on Friday held its first view-exchange meeting at Kazi Nibash in Malibag, discussing ways to provide help to the helpless and distressed women attain self-sufficiency. The meeting decided to earmark the library room of KM Sobhan as the office of the trust. The main objective of the trust is to provide legal knowledge and advice to women, educate them on various matters for physical and mental well being and provide technical support and training to make them self-reliant. Chairman of KM Sobhan Memorial Trust Dr.Rumana Nahid Sobhan presided over the meeting. Among others, Vice Chairman of the trust Advocate Enayet Hossain, Advisor Mamun Haque, Treasurer Dr. Johra Khatun and Member Samina Haque were also present at the meeting.
