Diabetic Association of Bangladesh
A discussion marking the Diabetes Awareness Day organised by Diabetic Association of Bangladesh was held at the conference room of the BIRDEM Hospital in the city. Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed was present as the chief gust in the programme held recently. While speaking Nuruzzaman said the government under the dynamic leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is taking various projects including social safety net programmes and distributing allowance to the helpless and poor people. He emphasized the need to create more awareness through media for diabetes prevention. Dr Bedura Jabin presented key note paper on children diabetes and its prevention. The function was also addressed, among others, by Director General of BIRDEM Hospital Prof Jafor A Latif and Secretary General of the association Sayef Uddin. Marking the day a colorful rally was brought out from Matshya Bhaban area in the city. President of the association AK Azad Khan presided over the event.
