Students’ Counselling and Guidance
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman on Sunday called upon the students to work hard to fulfill the expectations of the families, societies and nation. The VC was addressing as the chief guest the orientation programme of 1st year honors students of different institutes, different departments under the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences of the university at TSC auditorium, organized by Students’ Counseling and Guidance(SCGO) office of DU. Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Prof. Dr. SM Abdur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences Prof. Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal and Director of the Institute of Education and Research Prof. Syeda Tahmina Akhter addressed it as special guests with Director of SCGO Professor Dr. Mahjabeen Haque in the chair. The DU VC urged the students to be aware of their potentialities and protect academic life from harmful things.
Daffodil International University
Aiming to establishing the tourism industry as a major economic power of Bangladesh, the department of Tourism & Hospitality Management of Daffodil International University organized a Round Table Discussion on “Hospitality Industry: Securing the Future for Bangladesh in the Global Arena” at Banquet Hall of the university recently. Dr Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil International University and Chairman, Daffodil Family was present as Chief Guest at the Round Table Discussion while Prof Donald Sloan, Former Chairman of Oxford School of Hospitality Management, and Chairman, The Oxford Cultural Collective presented the keynote presentation in the Round Table Discussion. Prof. Dr. Yousuf M Islam,VC , Daffodil International University presided over the round table discussion. Former Foreign Secretary Farooq Sobhan, Prof. Dr. S M Mahabub-Ul Haque Majumder, Pro- VC of DIU, Mohammad Nuruzzaman, Chief Executive Officer of Daffodil Family were present as the special guests.
Mahabu Parvez, Head of the Department of Tourism & Hospitality Management of Daffodil International University moderated the round table discussion.
The round table was also discussed by Md. Zillur Rahman of Governmet’s a2i project, Mr. A B M Ashraful Haque & a n m Shajahan of Skills for Employment Investment Program (SEIP), Ms. Nadira Kiron of ATN Bangla and Many other tourism specialists, hotel manager, tourism journalist, high officials from the govern and a number of businessmen from tourism sector of Bangladesh attended this discussion session.
