Daffodil International University

A contingent of 33 participants from SIAS University of China which is a dearest & active partner university of Daffodil International University joined the Winter Camp at Daffodil International University (DIU). The camp started from January 12 and continued until 17 January 2020. This is for the 3rd time DIU is hosting Winter Camp in Bangladesh at its lush green campus. The closing ceremony of ‘DIU Winter Camp-2020’ hosted by Daffodil International University (DIU) was held on Saturday at 71 Milonayoton of the University at Dhanmondi in the city . Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil International University was present as the Chief Guest in the ceremony. Prof Dr. S.M. Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder, Pro-VC of Daffodil International University and Mr Charlie Chen, Coordinator International Cooperation & Exchange, SIAS University were present as the special guests where Prof Dr Md. Fokhray Hossain, Director of International Affairs of Daffodil International University presided over the program. The participants of the DIU Winter Camp shared their week long experience gathered at Daffodil International University at the programme .

University Grants Commission

A- 3 member delegation from UNICEF called on Prof Dr. Kazi Shahidullah, Chairman, University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh at the latter’s office yesterday. Ms Neha Kapil, Chief, C4D (Communication for Development), UNICEF, Bangladesh led the delegation. Other members of the delegation include Dr David Mould, Prof Emeritus, Media, Arts and Studies, Ohio University, USA and Ms. Yasmin Khan, C4D Manager, UNICEF, Bangladesh Country Office. Prof Dr. Md. Sazzad Hossain, Member, UGC, Dr Md Fakhrul Islam, Director, Private University Division and Mr. Md. Omar Faruque, Director (Current Charge), Research Support and Publication Division, UGC, among others, were present on the occasion. During the meeting, the delegation informed the UGC Chairman that UGC and UNICEF will jointly announce the first ever C4D research fellowships for the faculty members of public and private universities of the country at a programme to be held on February 4, 2020 in Dhaka.
