Bangladesh Swadhinata Parishad
A discussion on ‘Role of people to root out militancy and terrorism’ organised by Bangladesh Swadhinata Parishad, Central Committe was held on Tuesday at the Jatiya Press Club. Awami League Publicity and Publication Affairs Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud was present as the chief guest. While speaking Hasan said that BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has betrayed the nation by calling for national unity to root out militancy because Founder Chairman of BNP late Ziaur Rahman and Begum Khaleda Zia had planted the poisonous tree of militancy. So, unity can’t be forged between the freedom fighters and the Razakars, he added. The programm was also addressed, among others, by former State Minister for Home Affairs Advocate Shamsul Haque Tuku, former Permanent Representative of Bangladesh in the United Nations Dr AKM Abdul Momen, Assistant Secretaries of Awami League sub-committee MA Karim & Advocate Balaram Poddar and General Secretary of Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote Arun Sarker Rana. Adviser of the parishad Hasibur Rahman Manik presided over the discussion.
Bangladesh Sramik Federation
A meeting of the Bangladesh Sramik Federation was held at the central office of the federation in the city on Monday with its president Golam Sattar in the chair. In the meeting the speakers expressed grave concern over efforts for formulating EPZ Labour Law-2016. The programme was addressed, among others, by General Secretary of the federation AAM Foiz Hossain, its Organising Secretary Rafiqul Islam Pathik, other leaders of the organisation Shahabuddin Ahmed and Master Mokhlesur Rahman.
