A discussion in observance of the 31st martyrdom anniversary of Dr Shamsul Alam Khan Milon organised by Bangladesh Medical Association was held. Agriculture Minister Dr Abdur Razzaque was present as the chief guest in the programme held recently in its auditorium. While speaking Razzaque said BNP has been trying to create anarchy in the country in the name of waging movement with various non-political issues. “BNP has no ground under its feet , they wants to come to power using religion and with the help of fanatics but they must keep it in mind that they should go to the people to win their heart for going to power,” he said. Razzaque said an elected democratic government is in the power. Those who do not believe in democracy are hatching conspiracy against the democratic government and want to come to power by undemocratic means including using religion.
Fanaticism is a threat to democracy, he said, adding that the people of this part of the world had to wage movement and sacrifice blood to establish democracy. The function was also addressed, among others, by Bangladesh Workers Party General Secretary Fazle Hosain Badsha, MP, AL Cultural Affairs Secretary Ashim Kumar Ukil and Secretary General of the association Dr Ehteshamul Haque Chowdhury. President of the association Dr Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin presided over the event.
