Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League has distributed food items among 400 destitute and needy people. Rice, potatoes, onion, pulse, sugar and milk, salt, oil, flour, soaps, masks and hand sanitizer were distributed among the people at Sanai Community Center in Wari on Thursday. President of Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League and freedom fighter Abu Ahmed Monnafi was present as the chief guest and Barrister Biplob Barua, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister and Office Secretary of Awami League, was present as the special guest. Abu Ahmed Monnafi during his conversation with the newsmen said, “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has made Bangabandhu’s dream of a Sonar Bangla into a reality in the spirit of liberation war and is working tirelessly day and night for the betterment of the people of the country. Bangladesh is in a strong position at a time when the whole world is in turmoil during the epidemic, only because of her prudent leadership.” Barrister Biplob Barua urged the people to abide by the health guidelines given by the government to curb the rising cases of Covid-19 and said, “Government is beside the needy and destitute people. Food has been allotted for the needy so that they don’t have to endure hunger.”
The function was attended, among others, by Dhaka Metropolitan South AL Joint General Secretary Miraj Hossain, Publicity Secretary Nurunnabi Chowdhury Sagar, Office Secretary Riaz Uddin Riaz and Science and Technology Affairs Secretary FM Shariful Islam.
