Bangladesh Health Reporters Forum
A human chain organized by Bangladesh Health Reporters Forum (BHRF) was formed recently in front of the National Press Club in the city. In the human chain journalists demanded exemplary punishment to the doctors and staff of ZH Sikder Women’s Medical College and Hospital who were involved in the attack on a journalist. A group of doctors and staff of the hospital allegedly confined and assaulted a special correspondent of Bangla national daily Prothom Alo, Shishir Morol for more than two hours as he asked about a cardiologist’s designation. Dhaka Reporters Unity President Shahed Chowdhury, General Secretary Elias Khan, National Press Club General Secretary Syed Abdal Ahmed, BHRF President Taufique Maruf, General Secretary Badruddoza Sumon were present, among others.
Later, they submitted a memorandum with five point demands including cancellation of the medical registration of the doctor to the health ministry.
