Muslim-Hindu-Bouddha-Christian Sampreeti Parishad
A human chain and discussion organised by Muslim-Hindu-Bouddha-Christian Sampreeti Parishad was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club in the city on Friday on the occasion of Christmas Day, the greatest religious festival of the Christian community. The function was presided over by Bangadib MA Bhasani. While speaking MA Bhasani said Bangladesh is the country of communal harmony. The people of different faiths have been living in the country together in peace for thousand years. During the liberation war people of all faiths participated in the battle field and liberated the country. So, we should not exaggerate centering any religion. He urged all to be united with a view to building Bangladesh as a non-communal country. The event was addressed, among others, by former ambassador Prof Dr. Nim Chandra Bhoumik, Rokon Uddin Pathan, Maulana Quari Asaduzzaman, Saikhul Islam Titu, Iyahiya Khan Kutubi, Advocate Abul Kalam Azad, Ria Akhter and Mohammad Ovi Mia.
