Bangladesh Foreign Service Association donated Taka 30 lakh to the Prime Minister’s Relief and Welfare Fund to combat the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in the country. Acting President Syed Masud Mahmud Khandaker and Social Welfare Secretary ABM Sarwar-e-Alam Sarkar of the association recently handed over a cheque for the donation to Premier’s Principal Secretary Dr Ahmad Kaikaus. “The fund was raised from the Baishakhi allowance of all the members of the association,” said Sarwar, also the Prime Minister’s Assistant Press Secretary. He said the PM’s Principal Secretary received the donation on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). The premier joined the donation handover ceremony through a videoconference from her official Ganabhaban residence.
