Bangladesh Tanti League
A discussion marking the historic Mujibnagar Day organised by Bangladesh Tanti League was held recently at the VIP Seminar Room of the Central Public Library at Shahbag in the city. Organising Secretary of the ruling Awami League Ahmed Hossain was present as the chief guest. While speaking Ahmed alleged that BNP-Jamaat alliance has been hatching conspiracy to carry out subversive acts throughout the country. “The BNP-Jamaat combine is involved in the incidents of abduction and disappearance of people in the country,” he said. Convener of the organisation Enajur Rahman presided over the discussion. It was also addressed, among others, by Prime Minister’s Special Assistant and Awami League (AL) Office Secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap, AL Central Working Committee member Sujit Roy Nandi and All Europe AL General Secretary MA Gani. Ahmed Hossain said the main agenda of the present government is to complete the trial of the August 21 grenade attack cases of 2004.
He said the Awami League-led government would try those responsible for the August 21 grenade attack in the manner it completed the trial of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Killing Case. Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap said, “Ziaur Rahman rehabilitated the anti-liberation forces in country’s politics.
He restored the citizenship of Golam Azam and inducted Shah Azizur Rahman into his cabinet as Prime Minister after independence.”
