The 19th film festival titled ‘Amar Bhasar Chalachitra Utsab’ organised by Dhaka University Film Society was held on Thursday on the premises of TSC of Dhaka University. Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud was present as the chief guest in the programme. While speaking Hasan expressed his optimism that the country’s film industry will witness a come-back of its golden era within the shortest possible time as the government has been implementing different measures to modernize the industry. “I believe the whole canvas of county’s film industry will get changed within two years and it will get back its golden days,” Hasan told the closing ceremony of the film festival. Hasan said the government is leaving no stone unturned to make the country’s film industry a world class filmdom to ensure access of Bangladeshi films to global film market. The event was attended, among others, by DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Md. Akhtaruzzaman, Film Director Syed Salahuddin Zaki, President of the organisation Ferdous Khan Nirjhor and its General Secretary BM Jogli Rahmat.
