A discussion and iftar mahfil organised by BCS Information Association was held at the Information Complex in the city. Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud was present as the chief guest in the programme held on Tuesday. While speaking Hasan urged the information cadre officials to work for reaching the country’s development news to the people at grassroots level. “The country has witnessed significant change in the past 10 years of the government. I think your (information officials) role is very important in reaching the government’s development information to the people,” the minister added. “Bangladesh now becomes a food surplus country from a food deficit one,” Hasan said. The function was also attended, among others, by Information Secretary Abdul Malek, DG of DFP Ishtaque Hossain, Principal Information Officer Joynal Abedin and BTV DG SM Haroon-or-Rashid. President of the association and Secretary of Women and ChildrenAffairs Ministry Kamrun Nahar presided over the event.
