A discussion on “Mothers Contribution in the War of Liberation” organized by Rural Journalist Foundation (RJF) was held recently at the National Press Club. Awami League Presidium Member Advocate Sahara Khatun was present as the chief guest. While addressing Sahara said BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia dishonored the womenfolk by taking stand in favor of war criminals. “Women had huge contribution in the war of liberation in 1971. In spite of being a woman, BNP Chairperson supported the anti-liberation forces, women repressors. She dishonored the womenfolk,” the AL leader said. The discussion was addressed, among others, by former Chief of Army Lieutenant General (retd) Harun-or-Rashid, Dhaka City AL leader Shahe Alam Murad and RJF Secretary General Mohammad Mahfuzul Haque. RJF President SM Zahirul Islam presided over the programme. Sahara criticized Khaleda Zia’s stand in favor of anti-women development 13-point demand of Hefazat- e-Islam.
