Bangamata Parishad
A discussion on the occasion of the 88th birth anniversary of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib organised by Bangamata Parishad was held in the auditorium of the National Museum in the city’s Shahbag on Wednesday. Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim was present in the programme as the chief guest. While speaking Nasim urged his party leaders and activists to remain alert as the BNP-Jamaat alliance started hatching conspiracies ahead of the next general elections. The minister said BNP wanted to create unstable situation in the country by cashing on in the students’ non-political movement. They tried to catch fish in the troubled water, he added. The function was also addressed, among others, by former Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique, Bangladesh Economics Association President Prof Dr Abul Barakat, Sonali Bank Limited Director Dr Nurul Alam Talukder and General Secretary of the parishad M Anisur Rahman. Awami League leader Mozaffar Hossain Paltu presided over the event.
