Action for Social Development
A seminar on ‘Perception Study on Child Labour in Domestic Work’ organised by Action for Social Development in association with Bread for World was held at CIRDAP auditorium in the city on Monday. In the programme Appellate Division Judge of the Supreme Court Md Iman Ali was present as the chief guest. While speaking Iman said family awareness is a must to keep the child workers away from risky domestic works. Noting that law enforcing agencies should play a proactive role to bring perpetrators under legal procedure for their alleged involvement in violence against child domestic workers, he said laws and policies regarding children need to be disseminated at grassroots level. Researcher of the organisation Sharfuddin Khan presented the findings of the perception study on child labour in domestic works at the seminar.
