Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote
A discussion in observance of the 9th death anniversary of Awami League leader and former Home Minister Abdul Mannan organized by Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote was held at the Public Library auditorium in the city’s Shahbagh. Awami League Presidium member and former minister Advocate Sahara Khatun was present as the chief guest. Paying her deep homage to late AL leader, Sahara Khatun said, “As a close associate of Bangabandhu, Abdul Mannan had a laudable role as one of the organisers of the Liberation War and in the operation of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendro as well as in the anti-autocracy movement.” Jote leader and eminent cultural personality Hasan Imam chaired the discussion, also addressed,among others, by Food Minister Advocate Quamrul Islam, Awami League (AL) Information and Research Affairs Secretary Advocate Afzal Hossain, Dhaka City AL Organising Secretary Shahe Alam Murad, Awami Swechchasebak League President Advocate Mollah Md Abu Kowsar, Krishak League Vice-President MA Karim and Jote General Secretary Arun Sarker Rana. Sahara Khatun said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was the first President of Bangladesh government in exile during the war of liberation.
