Garments Sramik Karmachari Oikya Parishad
A rally organised by Garments Sramik Karmachari Oikya Parishad was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club on Wednesday. In the programme the leaders of the parishad demanded immediate release of the arrested leaders of the organisation. They also urged the authority concerned to take necessary steps for fixation Taka eighteen thousand as minimum salary of each garments employee. Leaders of the organisation addressed in the programme. A procession brought out by the parishad paraded different streets in favour of its demands.
Telecom Reporters’ Network, Bangladesh
The executive committee of Telecom Reporters’ Network, Bangladesh (TRNB), a platform of the journalists working in country’s telecommunication sector has been elected for 2018-19. Members of the TRNB in an annual general meeting held recently elected Mohammad Zahidul Islam, Senior Reporter of The Daily Star, as President and Samir Kumar Dey, Senior Reporter of Daily Ittefaq, as General Secretary respectively.
Special Correspondent of The Daily Sun Shamim Jahangir was made Finance Secretary while Shaheed Bappy, Staff Reporter of Daily Amader Shomoy, Organizing Secretary of the seven-member executive body. The three members of the committee are Muzib Masud, Special Correspondent of Daily Jugantor, Firoz Manna, Senior Reporter of Daily Janakantha and Ashraful Islam, Staff Reporter of Daily Protham Alo.
