Jatiya Nari Jote
A meeting organised by Jatiya Nari Jote was held in the city on Tuesday. Information Minister and President of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal, Hasanul Haq Inu was present as the chief guest. While speaking Inu said that the movement for women’s right had to be fought within the greater struggle against militancy.”The militants, communal elements and “tetul hujurs” were opposed to equal rights of women” he said, adding that they have to be boycotted and the struggle against gender disparity must continue. Inu said that the militants, communal elements and “tetul hujurs” and their patrons were social enemies because they were steeped in superstition. “Khaleda Zia, despite being a woman, was protecting those who were opposed to women’s progress. This was very unfortunate and women of the country should boycott her,” he added. Inu raised a number of slogans including “We are women, We can do; We want respect, Our rights, Want honorable life; Women and men were equal, None was slighter than the other’.
